As you swing your pickaxe at the walls, you’ll soon learn that tools in Core Keeper can break. Thankfully, you don’t have to build new ones every time.

Pelo, players must be at a Waypoint to travel between them. They cannot be traveled to from any point on the map.

Alternatively, you can also hunt down monsters in their natural habitat in specific biomes in Core Keeper, you can achieve this by building traps to catch the monsters.

These three Boss fights can be attempted in any order, as soon as each boss is found. They're all pre-spawned at set distances in the Core Keeper Gameplay world. Players may chose to prepare more by progressing through these first 4 tiers of equipment based on the materials found in the initially accessible biomes.

Like many sandbox survival games, Core Keeper throws you right into the action. The lack of clear objectives and demands from the game is part of what makes it good cozy fun, but it can also be a bit confusing.

And while bosses amp up the challenge, the crafting-focused sandbox design is suitable for people who are less interested in hardcore fighting and more interested in base-building. I’m only ten or so hours in, but I’ve watched Twitch streams where players have built extensive bases and crafted advanced items I have yet to even see in my playthrough.

The first time I saw glowing red eyes blinking in the dark in one of the more distant biomes I got so panicked I wound up swinging a berry pudding I had in my inventory instead of my sword. Tunneling into any new area, surrounded by pitch-black darkness and only clearing a path wide enough for yourself can be creepy and claustrophobic.

Using your Pickaxe, break up the wood logs surrounding the Core. Craft a couple of basic Chests from your inventory and place them so you can store excess items. Then craft a Basic Workbench and interact with it.
